Change Workspace Member Roles
This section explains how to change the role of a workspace member.
Prerequisites
You should join a workspace and have the Member Management permission within the workspace. For more information, refer to “Workspace Members” and “Workspace Roles”.
Steps
Log in to the KubeSphere web console with a user who has the Member Management permission, and access your workspace.
Click Workspace Settings > Workspace Members in the left navigation pane.
On the right side of the workspace member you want to edit, click , then select Change Role.
In the Change Role dialog, set the role for the workspace member from the dropdown list, then click OK.
KubeSphere provides the following preset workspace roles:
Role Description workspace-admin
Workspace administrator, has full permissions within the workspace.
workspace-self-provisioner
Workspace self-provisioner, can create projects, view workspace settings, and has management permissions for projects they create.
workspace-viewer
Workspace viewer, can view all resources within the workspace.
workspace-regular
Workspace regular user, only has permission to view workspace settings within the workspace. This role is typically assigned to project members who do not require additional workspace permissions.
